Improving Mental Health in your Organization
When mental health is suffering, other aspects of life such as relationships, physical health and daily functions are directly impacted.
So what can we do?
1. While there are many benefits for disconnecting from tech, also leveraging technology (especially AI!) is proven to be very useful and many employees even report that they prefer technology support than human support. Technology can help reduce workload, automate tasks and reduce stress by helping prioritize tasks.
2. Measure mental health as you measure business value. At the end of the day, what gets measured gets managed. Incorporating anonymous polls of wellness & health. The past’s masculine business approach of putting revenue over employee well being has come to an end, and companies will continue to see turnover if they don’t give attention to employees’ mental health needs.
3. Offer free access to online mental health services, access to mindset and wellness apps, such as Headspace, and counseling services are becoming normal benefits for employees. Provide mental health days off in addition to sick leave.
